Pickup possible at our Helsinki store (by selecting the &quot;local pickup&quot; shipping option.)<\/p>\n<p>LP with a poster and download card<\/p>\n<p>A concept<br \/>\nby Albert Oehlen and Sven-\u00c5ke Johansson<\/p>\n<p>Rhythm Ace &amp; Slingerland, which was recorded during a concert conceived by Albert Oehlen with percussionist Sven-\u00c5ke Johansson<br \/>\nat the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The idea originated from Johansson\u2019s visit to the artist\u2019s studio in 2018. Oehlen showed the drummer his collection of rhythm machines, American and Japanese, from the 1960s onwards.<br \/>\nOehlen explains \u201cI collect old drum machines because I fnd the contradiction fascinating that you collect devices that can do as little as possible. A drum machine is more attractive to me the more limited it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johansson responds to Oehlen\u2019s musings and collection by creating the performance for Rhythm Ace &amp; Slingerland. Johansson says of the performance \u201cthe situation was an extension of my being and also that of this device.
