Liner notes:
Jorma Tykkyläinen (b. 1958) has studied in Finland mainly with Chechoslovakian teachers Štěpán Rak and Vladimir Večtomov. He has continued his studies 1983 in Mexico City at the “Estudio De Arte Guitarristico”-school with Manuel López Ramos and in semester of 1985-1986 at the Conservatory of Prague in Czechoslovakia with professor Arnošt Sádlik.
In 1983 Manuel López Ramos wrote warmly of J.T.:
“I am convinced that this young musician has an enormous future in his artistic career.”
Besides numerous concert activities Jorma Tykkyläinen has also worked as a guitar teacher. Concert reviewers have often described him as a strong and personal interpreter.
On this record he plays a Ramirez guitar from 1975.
